The surrounding streets contain independent restaurants, cafés, food shops, cultural venues and residential buildings. La Boqueria Market and Gran Teatre del Liceu lie between the hotel and La Rambla, while the Gothic Quarter begins on the opposite side of the boulevard. Liceu metro station is approximately 300 metres away. Most central landmarks are walkable, although pavements can be busy and some historic lanes are narrow. Public transport is preferable to driving because the district has restricted traffic and limited parking.

• Barcelona Museum of Contemporary Art – approximately 500 metres: MACBA presents modern and contemporary art beside Plaça dels Àngels.
• Cathedral of Barcelona – approximately 700 metres: The Gothic cathedral and surrounding lanes form a central part of the Barri Gòtic.
• Plaça de Catalunya – approximately 800 metres: The major city square connects Ciutat Vella with the Eixample shopping and transport district.

• Use Liceu metro station on line L3 for journeys towards Passeig de Gràcia, Plaça d’Espanya and connections elsewhere in Barcelona.
